Jerry Jones Points Finger At Person Responsible for Cowboys’ Drought After Another Playoff Elimination

Jerry Jones just wants to watch his franchise flourish once again.
Always one for drama, Jones is always in the news for something he said or did. It started before the season when he traded Micah Parsons to the Packers. He was praised months later when he traded for Quinnen Williams. Dallas also acquired linebacker Logan Wilson in a trade with the Cincinnati Bengals.
The team would then go on a three-game winning streak and appeared to have turned the corner. In typical Cowboys’ fashion, it was another fake run to get the fan base’s hopes up for nothing.
The Philadelphia Eagles clinched the 2025 NFC East crown. It came with a Saturday night win over the Washington Commanders. That victory destroyed everything for the Cowboys. They dropped from the playoff race before they had a chance to face the Chargers on Sunday. That result means the Cowboys’ Super Bowl drought has officially reached 30 years.
Jerry Jones knew just who to blame.
Cowboys Owner Jerry Jones Places Blame On Himself

The Dallas Cowboys lost to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday. They fell to 6–8–1 on the season. It officially eliminated them from playoff contention for the second straight year.
Dallas’ last postseason appearance was in 2023. Their most recent playoff win came in 2022 when they defeated Tom Brady. Unfortunately for them, their last Super Bowl appearance was during the 1995 season.
Reflecting on another failed year, Jerry Jones assigned the blame for the Cowboys’ struggles.
“I’ll admit that the Cowboys management has played a big role [in the 30-year Super Bowl drought],” Jones said. “But seriously, I’m very disappointed that the way we’re structured. And my role puts us here tonight. I’m tremendously disappointed.”
There’s no question the Cowboys have had the talent to field winning teams. But they can never put it together, no matter who the QB or head coach is. This year’s offense has been one of the most productive in the NFL. However, their defense was easily one of the worst.
The team has another crucial offseason filled with decisions regarding the roster.
