Cameras caught Kyle Shanahan’s play-calling sheet during the San Francisco 49ers’ home game against the Chicago Bears on ‘Sunday Night Football.’
Kyle Shanahan’s 49ers narrowly escaped Levi’s Stadium with a thrilling 42-38 win over Ben Johnson’s Bears. San Francisco can clinch the NFC’s No. 1 seed with a victory over the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday.
During the contest, NBC Sports’ cameras caught several close-up looks at Shanahan’s play-calling sheet. We can’t say we know what the plays mean, but surely some rival NFL coaches and players out there might be able to decode them:

The 46-year-old head coach might want to be just a little more careful hiding his play-calling sheet. The playoffs are only two weeks away, after all.
From Shanahan’s play-calling sheet getting exposed to Deommodore Lenoir’s hilarious ‘SNF’ player intro to Cris Collinsworth dunking on himself for referencing Patrick Mahomes, last night’s broadcast sure didn’t lack entertainment.
Kyle Shanahan Is Making A Strong Case For Coach Of The Year

The 49ers lost a ridiculous amount of talent in the offseason. This included Talanoa Hufanga, Dre Greenlaw, Charvarius Ward, Deebo Samuel, Aaron Banks, Leonard Floyd and Javon Hargrave.
Nick Bosa and Fred Warner both suffered season-ending injuries. Brock Purdy, George Kittle, Ricky Pearsall and Jauan Jennings all missed multiple games, too. And yet, the 49ers are one win away from securing the NFC’s top seed.
ESPN’s computer model currently gives the 49ers a 9.9 percent chance of winning the Super Bowl. But the Coach of the Year honors are based on regular-season results, and there’s a case to be made for Shanahan to win the award.
Many wrote off the 49ers after losing so many key players in the offseason. A rash of injuries to key players couldn’t slow them down, either.
