Two Big-Name Front-Runners Have Emerged For Tennessee Titans Head Coaching Job

The Tennessee Titans head-coaching vacancy might not look as attractive as others around the NFL, but the AFC South team could still end up adding a high-profile name to right the ship and develop rookie quarterback Cam Ward.
The 2025 season started with Brian Callahan on the sideline. The Titans fired him after six weeks (1-5), naming Mike McCoy as interim head coach for the remainder of the season. McCoy led the team to two more wins while showcasing a more confident face on the field.
With the offseason underway, the Titans got to work to find the new leader who makes them a contender again. It appears that Tennessee has zeroed in on two head-coaching candidates. Coincidentally, both were fired recently.
On Friday, Tom Pelissero reported that Mike McDaniel, fired by the Miami Dolphins on Thursday, will interview with the Titans on Wednesday.

On Saturday, Ian Rapoport reported that they would interview Kevin Stefanski (fired by the Cleveland Browns on Monday) on Saturday. This would be their last interview of the weekend.

Tennessee Titans Could Have More Intriguing Options At Head Coach
Besides McDaniel and Stefanski, two well-known coaches in the AFC, the Tennessee Titans could end up adding a different coach in this circle. According to Diana Russini of The Athletic, John Harbaugh (fired by the Baltimore Ravens on Tuesday), will spend days watching film on Cam Ward.
“John Harbaugh is spending today and the next few days watching film specifically on quarterbacks Jaxson Dart and Cam Ward. He’s also been in contact with team decision makers, while continuing to communicate with potential members of his own coaching staff,” Russini said.
Russini also reported that the Titans requested to interview former Washington Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury.
The Titans are moving faster than other franchises and aiming higher than many would have thought.
