Popular show host Joe Rogan has had his say on the San Francisco 49ers’ supposed electrical substation issues this week.

The Niners have confirmed they will look into the theories suggesting the plant could be the cause of their many injuries over the last few seasons.

The substation in question is right next to the team’s training facility and Levi’s Stadium. It’s thought that the electromagnetic waves may be linked to their injury bug.

San Francisco’s campaign was derailed by a multitude of fitness problems in 2025. The conspiracy theory has been a hot topic since tight end George Kittle tore his ACL in the wild card round.

Kittle and other players have joined fans in discussing the possibility, although experts claim the suggestions are bogus.

Joe Rogan discussed the issue on his podcast while on with guest Paul Rooslie this week.

“I was just reading this f***ing crazy thing… about the 49ers, about San Francisco. Isn’t it f***ing nuts?” he asked.“They think it’s real.

“So, there’s a disproportionate amount of catastrophic injuries that come out of San Francisco and their training facility is right outside this power station.”

He added:

“I mean, way more Achilles tendon blowouts, way more knees blown out, way more catastrophic ligament and tendon ruptures.

“The players started talking about all this in 2012, I believe. And people were like, “all that’s nonsense.” Now, the stats are in, and you’re looking at the amount of injuries that come from this area, it’s like, this is not normal.”

An oblivious Roolsie asked whether the water was responsible for weakening the players.

“Electricity,” Rogan explained. “By the EMF signal. EMF signals we know disrupt human beings, but to what extent?

“To what extent does LED lights, is it minimal, do you feel it? Do you not? Does it have long term effect, does it take forever?” he continued. “But they are looking at the data from this one training facility and are like hey, this is not normal. This is a much higher percentage of injuries.”

Niners GM John Lynch recently confirmed that the team is aware of the theory and would look into it.

“Because it deals with allegedly the health and safety of our players, I think you have to look into everything,” Lynch said. “We’ve been reaching out to anyone and everyone to see, does a study exist other than a guy sticking an apparatus underneath the fence and coming up with a number that I have no idea what that means? That’s what we know exists.”

San Francisco beat the Philadelphia Eagles in the first round of the playoffs. The Seattle Seahawks blew them out in the following round and will play the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
