Stefon Diggs is dealing with new legal trouble just days before Super Bowl LX. The New England Patriots’ wide receiver is facing a defamation lawsuit that TMZ reported earlier this week. The case is connected to a dispute over a stolen Ferrari in 2024. The lawsuit also mentions several confrontations involving people close to Diggs.

A former employee filed the lawsuit, claiming that Diggs falsely accused him of stealing the luxury car. Police later investigated the situation and cleared the employee of any wrongdoing. The man says the accusation damaged his reputation, hurt his concierge business, and led to threats against him.

The lawsuit also claims members of Diggs’ inner circle confronted the man at restaurants in Miami and Houston. They allegedly demanded he return gifts Diggs had given him. According to the complaint, those confrontations eventually became physical.

The most serious claim in the lawsuit comes from an incident at a Miami nightclub in December 2025. The man says two people connected to Diggs attacked him at Tootsie’s Cabaret. He claims Trevon Diggs was present during the incident. The man says he suffered a torn ACL and other injuries. The lawsuit names both Stefon and Trevon Diggs as defendants and asks for damages related to defamation, harassment, and conspiracy.

Diggs has not publicly responded to the new accusations. He is still preparing for the Super Bowl as a key player in the Patriots offense. Team officials and his representatives have declined to comment.

This lawsuit comes during an already challenging year for Diggs off the field. Prosecutors are also handling a separate case from December. Authorities accuse him of felony strangulation or suffocation and misdemeanor assault and battery. Those charges are connected to an alleged incident involving his personal chef.

Diggs denies those accusations. He addressed the situation briefly through the Patriots. “It’s been an emotional time,” Diggs said. “It’s definitely an open case so I can’t even say anything about it.”

Police reports include claims from Diggs’ personal chef. She told officers that Diggs grabbed her from behind and tried to choke her with his arm. Also she said she feared she might pass out during the incident.

Diggs has also faced other controversies this season. A video that went viral last May showed him on a boat holding a pink substance, which caused a lot of online speculation. Diggs later spoke privately with coach Mike Vrabel about the situation, and the team decided not to take action.

Amid the turmoil, Diggs leans on his family for support. He recently praised girlfriend Cardi B for standing by him. “She’s an amazing supporter to me and the Patriots,” Diggs said. “I’m just thankful to have her in my corner.”

Diggs is now heading into the biggest game of the year while dealing with serious legal questions. The new lawsuit keeps his off-field issues in public focus.
