Could we be witnessing the end of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman?

The duo has worked together for 25 seasons, making them the longest-running broadcast pairing in NFL history. That said, it sounds like their partnership is slowly falling apart.

According to a report from Front Office Sports’ Ryan Glasspiegel, tension boiled over their respective contracts. Buck recently agreed to a new 6-year, $108 million contract to remain with MNF. However, Aikman, a 3-time Super Bowl champion and Pro Football Hall of Famer, remains without a deal. According to Glasspiegel, Buck “broke the ice” on the tension between the two. That led to an argument, which eventually de-escalated before the game started.

Troy Aikman is currently in the final season of a reported 5-year, $90 million contract.

Amid reports that they got into an argument, footage has now surfaced of Joe Buck just before Monday Night Football. An X user uploaded a video that showed a “Stressed” Buck talking with his wife, Michelle Beisner.

According to the poster, Buck and Aikman were standing near the MNF countdown set for around an hour before going up to the booth. However, neither was seen together nor speaking to each other.

For Buck to get a contract so quickly might suggest he has a role with the company that extends beyond MNF. Consequently, this might also mean that Aikman is the odd man out.

Outside of his MNF job, he was hired as a consultant for the Miami Dolphins to help lead their search for a new head coach and general manager. Maybe there’s a chance he takes his talents back to Fox.
