5 Teams Suddenly Emerge As Suitors For Mike Evans – NFL Insider Drops Bombshell List

Mike Evans has put together a Hall of Fame-level career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Now, he is ready to see what other teams might offer him.
The 33-year-old receiver plans to explore free agency after 12 seasons in Tampa Bay. That news quickly created buzz around the league. An NFL insider shared a list of five teams to watch, and it caught people’s attention.
Evans has recorded more than 1,000 receiving yards in 11 of his 12 seasons. He averaged over 15 fantasy points per game in all but three years. Injuries limited him to just eight games in 2025. He ended that season with 30 catches for 368 yards and three touchdowns. Even so, teams still value his overall track record.
According to insider Jonathan Jones, the Buffalo Bills, San Francisco 49ers, Washington Commanders, New York Giants, and Los Angeles Chargers are teams to watch. He said the list is based on team needs and opportunities, not salary cap space.
Five Teams Line Up As Tampa Bay Weighs Its Future

The Buffalo Bills are near the top of the list. They need a true No. 1 receiver. Mike Evans could step in right away as their top target. He would catch passes from Josh Allen and try to win a Super Bowl. That could matter a lot at this point in his career.
The San Francisco 49ers are another strong option. Brandon Aiyuk may leave. Jauan Jennings is a free agent. Ricky Pearsall has dealt with injuries. George Kittle is managing an Achilles issue. Evans could lead this group and give Brock Purdy a reliable target.

The Washington Commanders also need proven help on offense. Evans would bring size, production, and leadership.
The New York Giants face big decisions this offseason. Wan’Dale Robinson could leave. Malik Nabers shows star potential but needs support. Quarterback Jaxson Dart needs steady targets. Evans could help him grow and improve the offense. The team is also starting fresh under head coach John Harbaugh. Evans must decide if he wants a rebuilding project or a strong contender.
The Los Angeles Chargers could also be interested. Spotrac projects Evans at two years for $26.6 million. That seems reasonable for a six-time Pro Bowler with 866 catches, 13,052 yards, and 108 touchdowns. He helped Tampa Bay win Super Bowl LV and still plays well when healthy.
Tampa Bay wants him back. But history shows even legends move on, Emmitt Smith, Jerry Rice, and Tony Gonzalez all changed teams late in their careers. Evans now faces a similar choice.
