Scott had a brief tenure with the Steelers in 2024. He joined the AFC North team in August 2024. He seemed ready to compete with the likes of Najee Harris, Jaylen Warren and Cordarrelle Patterson until a meniscus injury killed his hopes.
Ten days after he suffered a partially torn meniscus, the Steelers released him. He played 73 games over six years and started in 12 of them (all with the Eagles), carrying the ball 302 times for 1,295 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Pittsburgh Steelers Added Star Running Back Rico Dowdle In Free Agency

The Pittsburgh Steelers had a busy first week of free agency. They added Rico Dowdle on a two-year, $12.25 million deal. After spending the first four seasons of his career with the Dallas Cowboys, Dowdle joined the Carolina Panthers for 2025.
He played 17 games, carrying the ball 236 times for 1,076 yards and six touchdowns.
