The 2025 season was supposed to be a breakout year for DK Metcalf. Pittsburgh acquired the wide receiver from the Seattle Seahawks in a blockbuster trade on March 13, 2025.
As part of the deal, the Steelers sent a 2025 second-round pick (No. 52 overall) and a 2025 seventh-round pick (No. 223) to Seattle, while receiving Metcalf and a 2025 sixth-round pick (No. 185). Months later, he found out that Aaron Rodgers would be his quarterback. Rodgers signed a one-year contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers in June 2025.
Following the trade, Metcalf signed a new five-year contract extension with the Steelers worth $150 million, averaging $30 million per year. Many expected him to take a massive leap on the field.
In the meantime, much more is expected of DK Metcalf as he heads into year two with the Steleers. The star wideout gave his fans an offseason update. Taking to his Instagram story, Metcalf posted himself while on the toilet, seemingly taking a poop.
“BREAKING: DK Metcalf is sh-tting,” a post on X said.

In the picture, Metcalf shows his pants around his ankles as he writes, “Make sure you get them parasites ouchea.” We assume Metcalf is speaking about intestinal parasites that infect the human gut and are commonly passed in stool.
“Intestinal parasites include worms and single-celled organisms that live in your intestines,” per the Cleveland Clinic.
DK Metcalf’s 2026 Season Depends On The QB

The Steelers’ quarterback room is in flux and rife with uncertainty. It centers on waiting for 42-year-old Aaron Rodgers to decide his future while developing young talent. The room currently consists of rookie Drew Allar, second-year player Will Howard, and veteran Mason Rudolph, with Rodgers as a potential returnee.
With Rodgers, the team is more than likely a certified playoff contender. Without him, it is going to be a long season.
DK Metcalf made a poor decision last offseason when he asked the Seattle Seahawks to trade him again. His former team won the Super Bowl, and his new team lost in the Wild Card round.
In 2025, the wide receiver finished with a career-low 850 yards receiving and 59 catches, one more than his career low. Part of the issue was that he was suspended for appearing to punch or smack a fan during a game against the Detroit Lions.
If Rodgers doesn’t come back, he just might have an even worse season.
