For much of his career, Eddie Lacy was disrespected and trolled over the weight he gained.

Lacy was one of the best running backs in the NFL for a couple of seasons. Unfortunately, he gained a lot of weight and became the joke of the century. Even after he retired, the weight jokes would never stop.

Back in 2017, he famously earned a $55,000 incentive that was tied to his weight. His contract with the Seahawks included a clause that could earn him up to $385,000 based on the results of seven different weigh-ins.

A few years ago, he fired back at a troll who made fun of his weight. These days, Eddie Lacy has decided to take his life into his own hands.

Former NFL running back Eddie Lacy wants to share his health journey with the world. The former Alabama Crimson Tide struggled with his weight towards the end of his career. Since stepping out of the light, Lacey has shifted his focus to a healthier lifestyle.

“This is a little uncomfortable for me to share, especially since it’s been a while since I last posted,” Lacey posted to X. He added a picture of himself drinking some sort of cleansing juice.

“A while back, I did a 4-day fast. I wasn’t even sure I could do it—but I did, and I felt amazing. I didn’t want to lose that momentum, so recently I started a simple protocol to keep things going… and it’s already been a game changer,” he added.

“Snacking and overeating have always been a struggle for me, and I know I’m not the only one. Even in just a couple of weeks, my cravings feel way more under control, and it’s been so much easier not to overeat.”

“I still have a long way to go, but I want to start sharing more of the journey and what I’m learning—partly to keep myself accountable, and hopefully to help others too… because let’s be real, a lot of people are struggling with their health right now,” Lacy posted.

You can see it in his face that Eddie Lacy is ready for this change.

He is also trying to get his life back on track. Almost two years ago, he was arrested for an “extreme” driving under the influence offense. Lacy was arrested on Sept. 30, 2024, for driving under the influence in Scottsdale, Arizona. According to media reports, Lacy’s blood alcohol level was over four times the legal limit.

According to TMZ Sports, Lacy pleaded guilty to extreme DUI and was sentenced. As part of the agreement, the city attorney dropped six other charges.

He was drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft and rushed for more than 1,000 yards in each of his first two seasons with the organization. Lacy finished his NFL career with 3,614 yards, 23 touchdowns on 857 attempts, as well as 101 receptions for 900 yards and six touchdowns.
