Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores has an ongoing case against the NFL. The coach, who joined the Vikings in 2023.
He served as the Miami Dolphins head coach from 2021 through 2023, posting a 24-25 record. After the Dolphins fired him, Flores alleged that his race played a role in that decision.
Additionally, he claimed that the Houston Texans refused to hire him for their head coach position in retaliation for his lawsuit.
Things could get ugly for the NFL, more so after the Supreme Court rejected the league’s attempt to move the case into arbitration.
Brian Flores Could Make Things Difficult For The NFL

Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio said that things could get nasty between the league and the coach.
“No company that has been sued for wrongful termination will admit it. The witnesses will have locked into their stories months before it’s time to take the oath to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. Proving that the party line is essentially a lie requires a relentless pursuit of circumstantial evidence to contradict the predictable denial of discrimination, retaliation, etc. (For example, if the plaintiff was fired for violating a specific workplace rule, it’s useful to show that others violated the same rule, without being fired or even disciplined.),” Florio reported.
He added that Flores’ lawyers will be extra aggressive regarding the witnesses. Still, Florio believes the league remains adamant that it did something wrong.
