The 2026 NFL season has not started yet, but one computer model is already making an early Super Bowl prediction.

The model projects the Chicago Bears and the Denver Broncos to face off in Super Bowl 61 at SoFi Stadium. The prediction may generate plenty of excitement around the league.

Both teams reached the playoffs last season, and the model predicts they will take another step forward in 2026. If the prediction is correct, Super Bowl 61 could feature two of the NFL’s most promising young quarterbacks on the league’s biggest stage.

For comparison, Super Bowl 60 featured the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks, with Seattle winning in convincing fashion. Now, attention is already turning to who might make next year’s championship game.

The prediction is surprising because neither team has been viewed as a favorite to reach the Super Bowl in recent years. Even so, the model believes both teams have enough talent to make a deep playoff run.

The Bears continue to build around Caleb Williams, the former No. 1 overall pick. The Broncos, meanwhile, have gained confidence with Bo Nix at quarterback. The model predicts that both young stars will lead their teams to Super Bowl 61.

But now the future prediction also has to see several years ahead. For the 2028 season, the model predicts a Super Bowl matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and the Houston Texans. For the 2029 season, it projects the New York Giants and the Las Vegas Raiders to meet in the championship game.

Those predictions are bold, especially since some of those teams have not reached a Super Bowl in a long time, while others are still trying to become contenders.

Of course, a lot can change before then. Injuries, trades, roster moves, and breakout players can reshape a season.

Still, the prediction gives fans something to talk about as they wait for the new season to begin. For now, the model believes Williams and Nix will face off at SoFi Stadium in SB 61.
