He finally got what he wanted as Myles Garrett has been traded.
In the years since their Super Bowl LVI title, the Los Angeles Rams have been trying to get back and replace Aaron Donald, who retired along the way. They have officially completed one part of that.
Garrett‘s time in Cleveland is coming to an end. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year is being traded from the Browns to the Rams, Ian Rapoport, Tom Pelissero, and Adam Schefter report. The package heading from Los Angeles to Cleveland includes edge rusher Jared Verse and a first-round pick, per the report.
The news comes days after it was revealed that the Eagles also wanted to trade for Myles Garrett and were willing to throw AJ Brown in the deal.
Garrett has been the subject of trade speculation since he requested to be dealt last spring. Despite that, he would go on to sign a massive deal worth $204.8 million, averaging $40 million per year.
The former No. 1 overall pick in the 2017 NFL Draft has built a Hall of Fame-caliber resume that includes 7 Pro Bowl selections, 5 First-Team All-Pro honors, and 125.5 career sacks.
