Former NFL quarterback Robert Griffin III has stirred things up online with a social media post commemorating Juneteenth.
June 19th, a Black holiday, marks the date in 1865 when Texas slaves learned of their freedom.
RGIII has every reason to acknowledge and celebrate the holiday, but fans don’t appreciate the way he’s gone about it.
The 36-year-old has taken to X to share a photo of himself wearing a cowboy hat while sitting on a couch with his wife and their four daughters.
“Happy Juneteenth❤️,” he wrote in the caption.
“See this man hates black women and his self … Juneteenth is about black people not white wife’s!!” someone wrote in the comments.

Robert Griffin Will Go To War Over His Wife

RGIII’s wife, Grete, has been at the center of much drama because of her skin color and became the focal point of his beef with Ryan Clark in 2025.
The former QB made some comments suggesting Angel Reese was suffering from a victim’s mentality, prompting Clark to take a shot at his marriage to a white woman.
The two traded barbs, with RGIII even calling on ESPN to fire RC over the latter’s statement regarding his family.
Of course, it didn’t go that way. Clark is still with the network over a year removed.
He did apologize, something he did plenty of last year.
