NFL training camp is now well underway, but players aren’t the only ones getting their reps in.

FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews has been putting in plenty of work herself ahead of another football season, but one recent gym session didn’t go quite as planned.

The longtime broadcaster shared an awkward interaction on the latest episode of her ‘Calm Down with Erin and Charissa’ podcast, revealing how a fan ignored what she considered a pretty obvious signal.

Andrews said she was in the middle of a workout with headphones on when someone approached.

She acknowledged the person with a quick hello before returning to her exercise.

That, apparently, wasn’t enough.

The fan then called her name again and made an unexpected request.

“I have never been asked in the gym, ‘Hey, take those out for a second,’” Andrews said.

Her co-host, Charissa Thompson, immediately understood the frustration.

“There’s a universal sign when you’re tapping your headphones, that you’re in the middle of something,” Thompson replied.

Andrews definitely appreciates people who support her work, but the weight room is not the same as other public settings.

Most people simply want to finish their workout without interruptions.

The 48-year-old will return this fall as FOX’s lead NFL sideline reporter, joining Kevin Burkhardt, Tom Brady and Tom Rinaldi on the network’s No. 1 broadcast team.

Her podcast, on the other hand, gives fans a behind-the-scenes look at life away from the cameras, often mixing football stories with everyday experiences that resonate well beyond the NFL.

This one happened to involve headphones and one fan who refused to read the room.

The clip serves as a reminder that if someone has headphones on, they’re probably listening to music, a podcast, or simply pretending not to notice you.

Either way, it’s usually a pretty good sign to let them finish their set before asking for anything.
