Former NFL wide receiver Stedman Bailey has found himself back in the headlines. Again, for something totally unexpected.

Police arrested Bailey, 35, and Karina Manderson, 35, after alleging the pair engaged in a public sex act inside Round1 at Pembroke Lakes Mall in Pembroke Pines, Florida.

According to the Pembroke Pines Police Department, officers responded shortly before 12:30 a.m. on July 27 after receiving reports that two people were having sex near the establishment’s bar area.

Investigators later reviewed surveillance footage and interviewed witnesses before making arrests later that morning.

Both Bailey and Manderson were charged with indecent exposure.

Stedman Baily Denies Penetration

According to the arrest report, surveillance video showed Manderson bent over while Bailey stood behind her.

Police also cited a witness who told investigators they observed the pair having intercourse before asking them to stop. The witness alleged Bailey pulled up his pants before both individuals walked away from the area.

Investigators later interviewed both suspects.

According to police, Bailey admitted he and Manderson had lowered their pants and acknowledged exposing themselves. However, he denied that intercourse had occurred, telling officers that there was no penetration.

Authorities also said there was no evidence suggesting either suspect’s drinks had been tampered with, despite both admitting they consumed multiple shots while at the bar.

Bailey entered the NFL as a third-round selection by the St. Louis Rams in the 2013 NFL Draft after starring at West Virginia alongside quarterback Geno Smith. He played three seasons before his career took an unexpected turn.

Bailey survived a drive-by shooting in Miami Gardens in November 2015 after suffering multiple gunshot wounds while sitting in a parked vehicle. The injuries effectively ended his professional football career, though he recovered fully.

Considering everything Bailey has overcome since surviving that 2015 shooting, this is probably the last headline anyone expected to read about him.
