It is not football season until a Raiders fan starts fighting in the stands. Thursday night meant that the NFL was officially back.
The Las Vegas Raiders and Arizona Cardinals played a preseason game on Thursday at Allegiant Stadium. Arizona defeated the Las Vegas Raiders with a final score of 27-14 during this Preseason Week 1 matchup.
Aside from the game, there was also some action in the stands between fans.
Raiders Fan Escalates Situation With Multiple Confrontations
A chaotic sideline incident involving an agitated supporter has circulated online. The footage depicts a Raiders fan becoming increasingly confrontational with those seated nearby before police intervened.
One man wearing a distinctive team hat and dark clothing can be seen pointing and yelling as he moves through the seating area aggressively. He seemed determined to fight somebody in the stands that night. Several people stepped up to him to try to calm him down, but he wasn’t hearing them.
Meanwhile, the intensity of the exchanges drew the attention of stadium personnel, who began approaching the section. Even then, the Raiders fan still wanted to fight. He actually tries to square up with the police. That forced them to hold his arms as others came down to detain him, and then handcuff him.
The Raiders fan was then bent over as cuffs got placed on his wrists.
The Raiders Are Hoping For a Successful Season
The last winning season for the Las Vegas Raiders was in 2021. They have been a bad franchise. Last year, the Raiders secured the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft after a disastrous 2025 season in which they finished 3-14.
Their miserable season led to a complete organizational reset, resulting in the firing of head coach Pete Carroll after just one year. Ultimately, it led them to draft their new franchise quarterback, Fernando Mendoza, to lead the team into the future.
The Raiders do plan to sit Fernando Mendoza initially, but he is expected to play and see the field at some point during the 2026 NFL season.
