Despite Puka Nacua’s absence, the Rams made quick work against the Giants due to their revamped lineup.

Ahead of their clash against the 1-1 Denver Broncos, the Los Angeles Rams hope that the 25-year-old will be available after missing Week 2 with a hip and groin injury.

Nacua played in their season-opening loss to the San Francisco 49ers in Melbourne. He had 5 receptions and 74 yards in that game. Now, the team has given an update about their star wide receiver, and it doesn’t look good.

The Rams still need their speedy youngster this season as they vie for a successful campaign. Now, coach Sean McVay has shared an update on his star WR’s availability.

“I’m not sure what his status is as far as this next coming week. I’m hopeful that he’ll play,” McVay told reporters per TheRams.com’s Stu Jackson.

“When you have soft tissue injuries with guys like that that are skill players, you’re going to err on the side of caution,” he added.

Early into their 2026 campaign, McVay is rightfully overly cautious with Nacua. Surprisingly, the team enjoyed a vintage performance from Davante Adams in their last outing.

Additionally, McVay just doesn’t want to take things by chance. He wants a calculated approach to what to do should his star receiver continue to miss time.

“You have to redirect your whole kind of plans, and you almost have to operate where it’s like, ‘All right, if he plays it’s a bonus, but we can’t count on him playing even though we were hopeful that there might be a chance,” McVay said to the LA Times.

The Rams will travel to Denver for SNF.

Instead of training and improving, Puka Nacua had a different offseason than his peers. He became a father. Plus, he had an overwhelming reaction to his newfound fame.

Nacua admitted that he started to drown himself in alcohol due to stress.

“Just kind of drowning myself, so that the issues and the stress that I was feeling never had the opportunity to be addressed,” Puka Nacua revealed in an interview.

Looking to get better, the 2025 Pro Bowl has vowed to become a better example for his son. The Rams certainly need him to become one, as they are among the favorites to win it all.
