The rebuild in Tennessee continues.

The Indianapolis Colts have already begun offloading a few valuable players, and most believe the 1-6 Titans aren’t far behind them. On Thursday, they certainly showed it with a massive trade that involved the Chicago Bears.

With the team not going anywhere anytime soon, the team shipped off Jeffery Simmons.

Titans Trade All-Pro Jeffery Simmons to Bears in Blockbuster Deadline Deal

Tennessee Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons (98) warms up before the game against the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium in Nashville, Tenn., Sunday, Sept. 13, 2026.

Unsurprisingly, the Chicago Bears had shown interest in star defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons. That interest turned into a blockbuster trade on Thursday.

The news comes from Ian Rapoport, who notes that the Bears are sending the Titans two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder.

“The Titans are sending Jeff Simmons to the Bears for a massive package to help Tennessee rebuilt. It’s two firsts at least,” Rapoport reported.

“The Bears are sending two first-round picks and a fourth-rounder to the Titans for Jeff Simmons. A monster deal,” Tom Pelissero added.

The Bears traded away Gervon Dexter before the season started, which hurt their interior pass-rush. Now with Jeffrey Simmons, the team has an answer on defense. Chicago also needed a boost in their run defense. They are currently giving up the 10th-most rushing yards per attempt and ranked 26th in run stop win rate, according to ESPN.

Simmons is one of the best interior defensive linemen in the NFL and is a massive upgrade for Chicago.
