The Cleveland Browns broke ground earlier this year for a new $2.4 billion to $2.6 billion fully enclosed domed stadium. It will be located in Brook Park, Ohio, and scheduled to open for the 2029 NFL season.

The Browns have played at their current home, Huntington Bank Field, for 27 years, since the stadium opened in 1999. They have made just 3 playoff appearances during that time. The franchise now hopes the new stadium brings a lot more luck.

Can a historic football franchise completely reinvent its fan experience by leaving its beloved downtown waterfront home behind? The passionate community backing the Cleveland Browns is currently processing that monumental architectural shift after an incredible reveal.

Recently, officials shared a highly detailed physical model showcasing the franchise’s upcoming domed sports paradise. Scheduled to open its doors for the highly anticipated 2029 football season, this mega-project completely reimagines traditional stadium aesthetics.

The raw structural specifications for the jaw-dropping Brook Park location highlight an incredibly unique engineering approach. Instead of building straight upward, the Cleveland Browns are constructing their $2.4 billion arena within a massive 80-foot deep hole.

Consequently, the expansive venue will comfortably hold 67,500 screaming spectators beneath a folded-plate transparent roof structure. In fact, nearly 80 percent of the general seating will sit directly inside the lower deck.

The Cleveland Browns’ new $2.4 billion domed stadium is engineered to completely redefine the modern fan experience. The stands are modeled after intense European soccer supporter sections. Their new Dawg Pound is designed as a distinct, continuous structure with a steep 34-degree slope.

A massive 50-foot-tall video board will hang directly over the Dawg Pound, slanted toward the grass at a 35-degree angle. The stadium is going to be built to ensure that home games will be treacherous for opposing teams.
