Green Bay Packers Replace Josh Jacobs With 22-TD Game-Changing RB In Blockbuster Proposal

The Green Bay Packers lacked consistency in the 2025 NFL season, which proved costly down the stretch. They finished the season on a five-game losing streak, including a late-game collapse against the Chicago Bears in the wild-card round.
After a rocky campaign, they saw several players leave, including quarterback Malik Willis and wide receiver Romeo Doubs. They could make a big move and trade for one of the most promising running backs in the league, De’Von Achane, to help Josh Jacobs and eventually replace him.
“Achane is only 24, and he’s one of the NFL’s most explosive backs. Jacobs is probably near the end of his prime at 28 years old,” Matt Schneidman of The Athletic wrote on Thursday. “Achane, a 2023 third-round pick, has one year left on his rookie deal and could share a backfield with Jacobs before taking over next season after getting paid. It wouldn’t be hard for [Packers GM Brian] Gutekunst to ring up his former second-in-command, either.”
Miami Dolphins Make De’Von Achane Untouchable In Trade Talks

After cutting wide receiver Tyreek Hill and quarterback Tua Tagovailoa and trading Jaylen Waddle to the Denver Broncos, the Miami Dolphins are in full rebuilding mode. Speculation about De’Von Achane’s future surfaced after the Waddle move.
However, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reported on Wednesday that the Dolphins aren’t interested in moving Achane. The 24-year-old will likely have a central role under Bobby Slowek in 2026. The Packers could make an offer Miami can’t refuse, but that doesn’t seem likely.
