After being sentenced to spend 10 years in prison for a DUI accident that resulted in the death of a 23-year-old woman and her dog, Henry Ruggs sought parole this year.
The first wide receiver taken in the 2021 NFL draft saw his life take a 180-degree turn on November 2, 2021, when he sped at 156 MPH and crashed into Tina Tintor, killing her and her dog.
He pleaded guilty to felony DUI causing a death and misdemeanor vehicular manslaughter, hearing his sentence in 2023.

Ruggs initiated the process to seek release in May. He appeared before the Nevada Board of Parole to make his case.
“Not a minute goes by where I don’t think of the pain I caused her family, her friends and the Las Vegas community,” Ruggs told the parole board. “I’m a religious person and pray for her family daily.”
On Thursday, TMZ Sports reported that Ruggs was denied parole at a ruling. His attorney, David Chesnoff, said he had been using his time in prison to lead his fellow inmates with cardio classes and sharing his story.
He will go before the board again three months before his mandatory parole release date in August 2027.
