Daejon Love was arrested by federal authorities last month. It was for allegedly running an elaborate, multi-state romance scam that defrauded at least 26 women out of over $1.3 million.

To begin with, Love met his victims online using popular dating apps like Tinder, Hinge, and Bumble. He actively went by several different aliases, including Jon Love and Jordan Love.

In addition, he created entirely fake personas to convince these women that he was a wealthy, successful individual. Specifically, he posed as a professional wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers and a luxury real estate investor.

Love went to extreme lengths, such as purchasing a custom $1,100 replica 49ers helmet. He also filmed a fake contract signing and used phone apps to display fabricated multi-million-dollar bank balances.

Love, 35, is not on the 49ers roster and never was. Unfortunately, a bunch of women never knew this information.

A new video that he sent to a stripper is now making the rounds on social media. Love is heard selling an NFL lifestyle to a dancer. Consequently, he called himself the biggest tipper in the room. Therefore, phone numbers, he said, were sometimes collected to set women up with friends.

As a result of his four-year operation, victims across California, Oregon, Washington, and Idaho collectively lost an estimated $1.3 million. Ultimately, the scheme came to an end when FBI agents tracked Love and his accomplice to the Boise Airport in Idaho.

That is where they were arrested on the spot while Love was traveling to meet new potential victims.

Presently, both men face federal charges of wire fraud and conspiracy to commit wire fraud. Both of those charges carry a penalty of up to 20 years in prison.
