The Los Angeles Chargers apparently risked a lawsuit when they joked about the Mike Vrabel situation in their schedule release video.

The NFL let teams know they had a free shot at Vrabel and Dianna Russini on Thursday, with a source making it clear that they would not be reviewing any videos ahead of the drops. They left it to the teams’ discretion, and it appears most steered clear of it.

It was always expected that the Chargers would have a go at the New England Patriots, which they did. They are the GOATS of schedule release videos, after all, and no one is safe at this time of year.

While the NFL refused to step in, Patriots superfan and Barstool Sports owner is ready to go to bat for his team.

He announced prior to the schedule release that he would be monitoring all of them, and any team making reference to the scandal could potentially face legal action.

“Let me say this loud and clear. I will be monitoring all schedule releases and anybody who makes a joke about this disgusting controversy will be put on my list and face potential legal action,” Portnoy wrote. “You’ve been warned.”

Was Dave Portnoy Being Serious Here?

Portnoy was likely making light of the situation himself. But you can never tell with him, and it appears some fans took him seriously.

“You’re such a pu**y!” someone commented under his post. “Freedom of speech motherf***er!”

“1st amendment freedom of speech,” another user wrote. “Just like the freedom of speech you used when you cheered after Bo Nix broke his ankle before facing your beloved Pats in the AFCCG. Listen to me pizza boy, eat a d**k.”

The Patriots will have an opportunity to clap back when the teams meet in Week 12. A win would probably be more than enough for Dave.
