Nick Foles has long been retired from the NFL. The long memory of his career will forever be defined by his time with the Eagles and bringing them their first Super Bowl.
Foles led the Philadelphia Eagles to their first Super Bowl victory in franchise history in Super Bowl LII in 2018. They defeated the New England Patriots 41–33 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.
That is the part all fans know, but there is an untold story that is just coming out.
Nick Foles Turned Down Disney’s $150,000 Super Bowl Offer

During the Philadelphia Eagles’ 2017 Super Bowl LII run, Nick Foles dealt with several challenges. He was forced into the starting role just weeks before after star quarterback Carson Wentz suffered a torn ACL.
He also played poorly in the final weeks of the regular season. Because of his late-season slump, not many had the Eagles doing anything. Foles shocked everyone with his playoff run before making it to the Super Bowl.
It turns out that Nick Foles had something else hanging over his head before that big game.
Prior to Super Bowl LII, Disney offered Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Nick Foles a guaranteed $150,000 contract/endorsement deal. This was revealed by Peter King this week.
“This is just, this is a guaranteed $150,000, so even if you lose, you’re getting a check for this,” King said on the Real Deal with Tony Reali podcast.

However, Foles had no interest in signing it.
“‘And if you win, it’s gonna be a lot more, but here’s the minimum that we’re gonna pay you.’ And Foles is the first guy in the history of the Super Bowl who said, ‘No. I’m not signing it.’”
“‘And his agent said, “This is 150,000 free dollars. Just sign this.’ He goes, ‘No. I’m not signing anything. It could enter my mind that, Hey, I’ve got this money on the line here. I mean they’re paying me $150,000 and I’m in the Super Bowl and all this.’ And he said, ‘Anything that was one tenth of 1% to take away my attention or my focus on this game, I’m not going to do it. If I win the game, fine. I’ll do a hundred things because then I can cash in. But I will not sign anything to make any money before the game.’”
It turns out he made a great decision. He completed 28 of his 43 passes for 373 total yards. Furthermore, Foles threw 3 crucial touchdown passes, including his infamous 1-yard touchdown pass on the “Philly Special” play.
Foles took home the well-deserved Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award.
