Packers Star Josh Jacobs’ Case Takes Another Stunning Turn As New Court Filing Emerges

Packers running back Josh Jacobs filed suit to prevent the release of a video from the altercation he had with his ex-girlfriend.
Jacobs became one of the biggest stories in the 2026 NFL offseason after he was arrested and booked with several charges. The veteran was convicted of misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property charges for a May 23 incident at his Hobart home.
He pleaded no contest to two misdemeanors in September, but the case is far from over. Ian Rapoport reported that the NFL tried “all sorts of legal maneuvers” to get the video of the incident. Outlets have tried to get their hands on it, too, but Jacobs is working to stop them.
Josh Jacobs Argues Video Release Would Expose Home Security Details

On Thursday, FOX 11 News reported that Jacobs filed a suit “seeking to prevent the release of video from an altercation with his then-girlfriend.”
“After the criminal case was concluded, a judge lifted the ban on the release of the video. Subsequently, media outlets, including FOX 11, requested the video from the Hobart-Lawrence Police Department. The department said it would release video, but that triggered a window for Jacobs to object.
“In the suit filed late Wednesday, Jacobs did just that.”
Jacobs noted that the victim prefers the information to remain confidential.
“Plaintiff joins ANM’s position and supports her request to protect her privacy, dignity, personal security, emotional well-being, and ability to participate safely in the criminal justice process. ANM is a crime victim who seeks closure, not public attention. ANM is not publicly known by her identity and has deliberately avoided public discourse concerning the underlying incident. Public release of records that identify, depict, locate, or disclose sensitive information concerning ANM would force unwanted exposure upon her and risk revictimizing her through renewed public scrutiny,” the suit states.
Additionally, he cited concerns for her personal safety and property, noting that other athletes have been targeted by robbers in recent times.
The NFL hasn’t made a final decision on Jacobs, and his court battle doesn’t seem to be completely over.
