George Kittle continues rehabbing after he suffered a season-ending injury in the wild-card round of the 2025 NFL playoffs. The veteran tight end has found a way to stay busy during the offseason, even hitting the golf course.
The San Francisco 49ers had a busy offseason, trying to put together a competitive team for the 2026 campaign. Kittle’s return should put them in a strong position to compete.
However, Kittle is the one navigating issues after one of the biggest organizations in the world criticized him over his recent actions.
George Kittle At Odds With PETA

Kittle recalled how he stepped into action against a spider after his scared wife woke him up in the early morning hours. A big spider scared Claire.
“At 4 am this morning, as I laid in a deep slumber, I was called to action by my wife who had discovered a spider the size of a half dollar in the bathroom,” Kittle recalled.
“Without hesitation I arose to combat the intruder. Claire handed me the slant board I’ve been using for rehab, and I immediately knew the spider had no chance. It took but 1 attempt to strike down my opponent.
“I received hugs and kisses for my bravery and fell back asleep with confidence. Have a day gentlemen.”
PETA took offense to Kittle’s actions and exhorted him to act better moving forward.
“Spiders are tiny compared to the average human, let alone an NFL player, and have a lot more to fear from us than we do from them, so there’s no need for unnecessary roughness,” PETA senior vice president Lisa Lange said in a statement.
The organization offered him a “humane bug catcher” to avoid future killings of arachnids.
