Police Presence At Saquon Barkley’s House As Eagles RB Targeted In Robbery While At Home With His Family

Saquon Barkley became the latest professional athlete to have his home targeted by burglars this weekend.
Police responded to Barkley’s residence in the Malvern section of Tredyffrin Township, Pennsylvania, around 5:10 a.m. Saturday, after receiving a report of a burglary in progress. By the time officers arrived, the suspects had already fled the scene.
Saquon Barkley And His Family Unharmed
Chester County District Attorney Christopher de Barrena-Sarobe confirmed that Barkley and his family were inside the home during the break-in but were not physically harmed. At least one suspect entered the residence. Investigators believe multiple people were involved based on the details of the incident.
“We are incredibly grateful that the Barkley family was not injured during this incident,” de Barrena-Sarobe said, according to The Philadelphia Inquirer.
Police say nothing appears to have been stolen from the home, and no arrests have been made so far. Investigators are asking residents in the area to check home security footage from around the time of the break-in. They released images of a white SUV, possibly a GMC Yukon, seemingly connected to the crime.
Saquon Barkley Joins A Growing List Of Targeted Athletes
Barkley’s case is the latest in a disturbing pattern that has swept through professional sports over the past two years. Authorities are reportedly investigating whether Saturday’s break-in connects to the broader wave of burglaries that has hit stars like Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Joe Burrow, incidents that led the FBI to issue a formal warning to leagues about organized crime groups targeting athletes’ homes.
Federal prosecutors previously charged several members of a South American theft ring accused of orchestrating a string of similar burglaries across multiple sports leagues, though it remains unclear if that group has any connection to the Barkley incident. Some of those earlier cases are still working through the courts, including Joe Burrow’s ongoing burglary case, which saw new arrests announced earlier this year.
Barkley purchased his roughly 10,000-square-foot Main Line home for $3.9 million in 2025 after signing with the Eagles. The break-in comes just over a week before Barkley and Philadelphia begin preparations for the new NFL season, though there’s no indication the incident will affect his availability.
The Tredyffrin Township Police Department’s Detective Division continues to lead the investigation with assistance from the Chester County District Attorney’s Office.
