Scott Hanson Opens Up About His Plans To Leave NFL RedZone

NFL RedZone host Scott Hanson has hinted he could move on from the gig someday, with his contract quickly running down.
Scott Hanson has anchored NFL RedZone since 2009, but there have been some changes as of late.
RedZone opened its 18th season in September with limited 15-second commercials between plays, although Hanson also promised fewer commercials this season.
There’s also been a change in ownership, given that ESPN brought NFL Network under its umbrella as part of a deal with the league.
The popular longtime host recently implied that his future doesn’t necessarily lie with RedZone.
He told OutKick’s Bobby Burack that he is in year two of a four-year contract but is not stuck to the network.
“The NFL has been good for me, but I’m not married to it. Could I go somewhere else? Sure, but we’ll talk about that when it’s time to talk about that,” he said.
Hanson did make it clear that he thoroughly enjoys what he does at the moment.
“I love my job. I give everything I’ve got to RedZone,” he insisted.
“If I were to go somewhere else, I would want that show or that endeavor to thrive in a way that it hasn’t ever thrived before and to serve the audience as best as anyone in a host role can possibly serve an audience.”
Hanson Has Two Full Seasons Left On A Deal Through 2028

Hanson’s current contract runs through the 2028 season, which leaves him with two more full seasons after 2026.
After agreeing his deal last year, he told SI’s Jimmy Traina there was a time he did not know whether he would return.
“So there was a time when I thought, I don’t know if this is gonna happen,” Hanson said.
Hanson has other work lined up, too. He hosted Peacock’s Gold Zone at the past two Olympics. He has also signed on for the 2028 Los Angeles Games.
Hanson joined NFL Network in 2006. He has since hosted its Super Bowl, NFL Draft, Scouting Combine and free agency coverage.
Just recently, he called three game-changing plays at once during Week 3 as the screen split.
