Joy Behar faced hate after criticizing Jaxson Dart for publicly supporting Donald Trump during a recent rally in New York.

Dart appeared with Trump at a MAGA event in Suffern on Friday. The rookie New York Giants quarterback introduced the president during a speech at Rockland Community College and got the crowd going with a “Go Big Blue!” chant before Trump walked on stage.

The appearance made discussions in both sports and political circles. Some people criticized Dart for openly supporting Trump, while others defended his right to share his political opinions. The conversation became even bigger after Dart’s Giants teammate Abdul Carter reacted.

Carter commented on a video of the event and wrote, “Thought this s*** was AI, what we doing man.” His reaction got more discussion about possible tension inside the Giants locker room before the new NFL season begins.

Behar’s Comments Start Online Outrage

During an episode of The View, co-host Whoopi Goldberg defended Dart’s right to hold his own opinions. “Isn’t he entitled to his [views]?” Goldberg asked during the discussion.

Joy Behar then launched into a much harsher response. She accused Dart of supporting a president with a long history of racism and discrimination allegations.

“For somebody to back a guy like Trump, whose history in discrimination and racism goes back to housing discrimination in the ’70s, DEI attacks, and posting pictures of the Obamas as apes… when he’s on a team that’s 55 to 60 percent of the NFL, that much percentage of black people, that is just the definition of stupidity and racist in my opinion,” Behar said.

Behar also suggested Dart “may need a little extra padding” on the field because opposing players could target him harder after his public support for Trump.

Her comments triggered people all over. Some users accused Behar of attacking Dart for his political beliefs. Others argued she focused too heavily on race and politics instead of football.

Former Giants kicker Lawrence Tynes defended Dart after Carter’s post gained traction online.

“The locker room is a sacred place because it brings together everyone from all walks of life and beliefs for one common goal,” Tynes wrote. “Calling a teammate out publicly for his political views and to get attention is nasty work.”

Trump later praised Dart during the rally and called the young quarterback a “future Hall of Famer.”
