Notre Dame Fighting Irish running back Jeremiyah Love had a firm message for an NFL team with a top-15 pick in this year’s draft: Please don’t draft him.

Jeremiyah Love is the top running back prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft. While some view him as the best overall prospect, it’s tough to predict where exactly he will go. In today’s NFL, running backs rarely go in the top five.

Many mock drafts have Love going to the Dallas Cowboys. That feels unlikely now, however, since Dallas just handed running back Javonte Williams a $24 million extension following his career year.

Speaking to reporters at the NFL Combine, Jeremiyah Love made it clear that he doesn’t like the Cowboys. It’s also evident that he doesn’t want them drafting him.

“Who is that?” Love asked when a reporter mentioned “America’s Team”, the Cowboys’ iconic nickname.

“My dad’s a Steelers fan, and he doesn’t like the Cowboys,” Love said.

The Cowboys have the No. 12 pick this year. Even if they wanted to draft Love, it’s highly unlikely that he’ll be available when it’s their turn to pick.

Kansas City Chiefs Are The Ideal Landing Spot For Jeremiyah Love

Countless mock drafts have Love going to the Kansas City Chiefs, including the latest from ESPN’s Mel Kiper, and for good reason. Andy Reid’s group, which holds the No. 9 pick, is the ideal landing for the Notre Dame product.

The Chiefs haven’t had a 1,000-yard rusher since 2017. Kareem Hunt and Isiah Pacheco didn’t cut it last season. With the ground game ineffective, opposing defenses had a much easier time containing Patrick Mahomes.

But if the Chiefs draft Love, the Kansas City offense will return to elite form. Opposing teams would have to stack the box against a running back like Love, opening up more room for the Mahomes-led passing game.
