Football fans wondered if Troy Aikman decided to let loose before calling the Philadelphia Eagles-Los Angeles Chargers ‘Monday Night Football’ game at SoFi Stadium.

Troy Aikman and Joe Buck were in the booth for the highly anticipated clash between the two playoff contenders. In a wild game featuring eight turnovers, including a mind-numbing double-whammy mistake by Jalen Hurts, the Bolts emerged victorious 22-19 in overtime.

Once again, Aikman’s performance in the broadcast booth drew mixed reviews. Specifically, fans wondered if he was under the influence going while calling the game.

“Is it me or does Troy Aikman look and sound drunk on Monday Night Football!” one fan remarked.

Aikman is in the fourth season of a deal worth $90 million over five years, per the New York Post. Before joining ESPN, Aikman was an analyst at Fox Sports from 2001 to 2021.

Joe Buck and the three-time Super Bowl champion will be back in the broadcast booth to call the Miami Dolphins-Pittsburgh Steelers game at Acrisure Stadium next Monday. Pittsburgh has a one-game lead on the Baltimore Ravens for first in the AFC North.
