DK Metcalf’s Punching Scandal Takes Another Unexpected Twist As Detroit Lions Fan Makes Shocking Announcement

The saga between Detroit Lions fan Ryan Kennedy and Pittsburgh Steelers star wide receiver is far from over.
During Sunday’s game between the Lions and Steelers at Ford Field, cameras caught DK Metcalf exchanging words with a Detroit fan, later identified as Ryan Kennedy. Metcalf, apparently unhappy with something said, punched Kennedy in the face.
On Monday, the NFL announced that Metcalf was suspended for the final two regular-season games. He appealed the decision, but it was upheld by the NFL, while Kennedy avoided a punishment from the Lions and the league.
But Kennedy and his attorneys aren’t ready to put the saga to a close. Not even during the cheerful holiday season.
Per ESPN’s Brooke Pryor, Kennedy’s attorneys are holding a press conference this Friday. They’ll speak on “the assault, correct misinformation that has been publicly repeated as fact, and discuss the serious consequences Mr. Kennedy has faced.”
Further details aren’t precise at this time. One could guess that it might be a lawsuit against DK Metcalf and/or the NFL. We’ll have to wait and see what they say on Friday.
DK Metcalf Could Lose Up To $45 Million Over Suspension

After the Steelers acquired Metcalf in an offseason trade with the Seattle Seahawks, he agreed to a four-year extension worth $132 million. However, there’s important language in his contract that Metcalf should have kept in mind all season.
The contract states that Metcalf could have $45 million voided because of a suspension. So, it’s imperative that the 28-year-old stays healthy and continues to produce at a Pro Bowl level. If he does that, the Steelers will happily keep him on board.
Metcalf will miss Pittsburgh’s final two games, but he’ll be eligible to return for the postseason. The Steelers need just one more victory or a Baltimore Ravens loss to clinch the AFC North.
