NFL fans have been very active in grading referees and announcers’ performances. With only one and a half weeks left, whatever people do or don’t have ramifications. Only a couple of playoff spots are on the line ahead of Week 18, and every decision counts a lot.

Fans have grown tired of certain situations during the season, and the latest came in the form of Rich Eisen’s play-by-play calling style. The veteran broadcaster has become a strong presence on NFL- and sport-related shows.

However, many were unhappy with his performance during Saturday’s matchup between the Los Angeles Chargers and the Houston Texans. While the Peacock announcer for the Green Bay Packers vs. Baltimore Ravens duel made a lot of fans laugh with his racy comment, Eisen earned a lot of criticism with his performance.

Many fans called for the NFL Network to avoid assigning Eisen in these games, as his style leaves a lot to be desired.

“I say this with peace and love… There is no worse NFL play by play announcer than Rich Eisen,” one fan said.

“People don’t realize how bad Rich Eisen is until the NFL Network gets to show a game not on 9:00 in the morning. He’s beyond awful and is so unfunny,” another fan said.

“I think rich eisen may be the worst play by play announcer in sports. Holy hell is he atrocious (he’s great at his other job),” another fan said.

“Rich Eisen is not a guy that should be doing play by play,” another fan wrote.

“This is wayyyy too big of a game for Rich Eisen,” another fan added.

“The same traits that make Rich Eisen a great interviewer work against him as a play-by-play guy,” another fan noted.

Eisen is regularly sent overseas to call international games. It wasn’t common to see fans this upset over his play-by-play calling, but his performance made an impression, and not in a good way. The late-game controversy wasn’t the only one that transpired.
