The Dallas Cowboys once again are mentioned in multiple rumors around the NFL. The NFC East team already retained running back Javonte Williams with a three-year deal, and barring something extraordinary, everything points to them franchising tag wide receiver George Pickens.

Meanwhile, they plan to make one of their special teams players the highest-paid in his position. Trading one of their first-round picks is also on the table, showing that the Cowboys could have a franchise-altering offseason.

After adding Christian Parker as defensive coordinator from the Philadelphia Eagles, the Cowboys could add another piece from their division rivals. They could upgrade the defense with a solid linebacker who knows Parker very well.

According to Cowboys reporter Clarence Hill Jr., the Lone Star will pursue Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean in the upcoming NFL free agency. Dean, 25, has played the first four seasons of his career with the Eagles. In 47 duels, he has recorded 226 tackles, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, one interception and five passes defended.

He knows Parker’s scheme, which would make the transition a lot easier. The Cowboys released Logan Wilson after trading for the linebacker ahead of the deadline. They need help after trading Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, and Dean appears to be a solid option.

If they can make a couple of moves to improve the defense, Dallas could be back in contention.
