Jonathon Cooper was already teetering on the edge of losing his career; now, he might’ve just sealed the deal.

A few days ago, the Denver Broncos linebacker was arrested for domestic violence. He was also facing separate charges of domestic violence summons and complaint, domestic violence, and criminal mischief, $300-1,000.

Things were already bad for him, but then he got himself arrested again.

For the second time in a week, the same NFL player was placed in handcuffs. Cooper was arrested Thursday night. This was after he allegedly violated a protection order that was filed for him following his domestic violence arrest last week.

Last week, Cooper and his girlfriend were both arrested on domestic violence charges. Both were held on suspicion of two counts of domestic violence and one count of criminal mischief. On Friday, he was on the receiving end of two more charges due to that first arrest.

Cooper faces an additional felony charge of second-degree assault by strangulation. He also has a charge of third-degree assault — knowingly or recklessly causing bodily injury. Last but not least, he has a 3rd-degree assault — knowingly or recklessly causing injury, along with his initial charge of criminal mischief between $300-$1,000.

Now, Jonathon Cooper is facing charges for harassment from repeated phone calls and one for the violation of a protection order, per ESPN. The protection order Cooper allegedly violated was established for his girlfriend after two additional charges were added from his June 4 arrest, per court records.

Cooper had a court hearing on Friday morning. As you can see, he did not make that.

“We are disappointed to learn of Jonathon Cooper’s arrest on Thursday and continue to review this matter,” the Broncos said in a statement.

The Broncos report for training camp in late July.

Cooper is scheduled to have a motions hearing on July 6 with the potential for a jury trial on July 22.
