EA Sports just caught serious heat from NFL fans. The company released its top team rankings for Madden 27. The Seattle Seahawks sit all the way down at number 10.

The defending Super Bowl champions earned an 84 overall rating. That puts them seven points behind the NFC West rival Los Angeles Rams. The Rams lead the list at 91 overall.

Seattle also trails four other NFC teams. Even the New England Patriots rank higher. The Seahawks defeated those same Patriots in dominating fashion in Super Bowl 60.

Seattle Seahawks Fans Call Out the Madden Disrespect

The backlash started immediately. Fans pointed out the clear disconnect between real-life results and the video game rankings.

“This makes no sense,” one said.

“Defending Super Bowl Champs at 10 is NASTY WORK! Not to mention it’s misspelled, and they still ain’t fix it! SMDH. The disrespect is REAL. That was a def a choice. Oh well. Run it forward fellas,” another said.

“How do you guys post this and not be embarrassed . The 17-3 Super Bowl champs are the 10th best team on the game…????” one commented.

“Super Bowl Champs should at minimum be in the top 3 when they kept 20/22 starters,” someone declared.

“This is genuinely one of the worst ranking I’ve ever seen,” one wrote.

“The defending Super Bowl champs at an 84 and 10th overall is certainly a decision,” one commented.

To make matters worse, EA misspelled the franchise name on its social media graphic. The post referred to the “Seattle Seawhawks.” Fans quickly piled on that error as well.

The Seattle Seahawks feature a loaded roster. They boast a strong run game, a star wide receiver and one of the league’s top defenses. None of that seemed to register with the ratings team.

Madden ratings have drawn criticism for years. Player overalls and team rankings often spark debates across social media. This latest case feels especially tone-deaf given the recent championship.

The Seahawks enter the new season as title defenders. Their success came through tough playoff wins and a complete Super Bowl performance. An 84 overall simply does not reflect that body of work.

Many non-Seahawks fans joined the criticism. They agreed the ranking made little sense after the team’s dominant run. The combination of a low rating and a spelling mistake only poured fuel on the fire.

EA Sports has yet to address the backlash in detail. The full ratings hub remains available for players to check other teams. Seattle’s placement continues to dominate the conversation for now.
