Shilo Sanders just put a clock on his football life. The former Tampa Bay Buccaneers safety is still unsigned. He has not played an NFL snap. Now he says the wait ends next week.
“If I don’t get picked up on a team by next week, I’m just gonna go ahead and drop the album, bro,” Sanders said on a livestream.
Tampa Bay signed him as an undrafted rookie in 2025. He flashed in two preseason games. Then he punched Buffalo’s Zach Davidson and got ejected. Todd Bowles called it “inexcusable.” The Bucs cut him after the game.
Shilo Sanders Already Quit NFL Training
Shilo Sanders later admitted the grind stopped. A friend asked if he still trained just in case a call came. He said regular workouts are not the same as camp work.
“It takes a special kind of guy to see the light at the end of the tunnel, and I don’t think there’s any light in my tunnel.”
That line landed hard. Roster cuts hit this week across the league. Some names cling to a last look. Sanders already talks like the tunnel is dark.
Bowles once sold a different picture.
“Shilo’s very aggressive, very young, very hungry,” the coach said last August. “He can make plays in the box.”
The night Tampa waived him, he went to the studio. The track title was “Go Out Swinging.” Shedeur later joked that if Shilo left football, he left swinging.
Shilo Sanders Built the Music Escape Hatch
Music is not a new hobby. Deion dropped Prime Time in 1994. Shilo released Hate 2 Love in January 2025. He builds beats on a MIDI keyboard and edits his own videos.
Shedeur once asked him,
“I want to sign you to a 360; what do you sai?” Shilo answered, “Imma drop soon, my boy.”
He already signed with UTA for acting and modeling. He played a young Deion on Starz’s BMF. He walked Louis Vuitton in Paris with Shedeur. His YouTube channel sits above 219,000 subscribers. Porsche and Google already sit on the brand sheet.
Money still hangs over the pivot. A bankruptcy trial is tied to an $11.89 million judgment from a high-school security-guard case. He filed in 2023 with nearly $12 million in debt.
Shilo Sanders still talks like the family plan covers both lanes.
“I’ve always done that my whole life playing football with music, acting, and modeling,” he said. “I truly believe God has a big plan for me.”
The NFL has seven days, maybe less. After that, the next roster shakeup may not include him. The album will.
