Giants Kicker Younghoe Koo Drops Pathetic Excuse for Viral ‘MNF’ Field Goal Disaster [VIDEO]

New York Giants kicker Younghoe Koo delivered one of the most bizarre moments of the 2025 NFL season on this week’s iteration of ‘Monday Night Football’.
Koo was attempting a field goal against the Pats on the night and ended up missing the entire ball, kicking the turf instead. The miss would lead to a sack, as holder Jamie Gillan could only pick up the ball and run.
Troy Aikman could not believe what he was seeing, and neither could anyone else.
An opportunity to cut the lead to 17-10 was lost in truly unique fashion, and everyone was looking forward to an explanation from Koo, who claimed to “pull up” on purpose because he saw the ball was moving.
Speaking to reporters after the game, the 31-year-old said he saw the bottom of the ball shift on the hold and decided not to kick it.
“I was approaching the ball and, cold weather, the ball kind of slipped out at the bottom so it was moving,” he said, via the New York Post. “I wasn’t able to kick through the ball. The ball was moving when I was driving to it, so I just pulled up on it.”
Koo added that Gillan tried his best to hold the ball steady but did not do so in time.
“Jamie did a good job of catching it and putting it back,” he claimed, “but, at that point, it was too late.”

Fans Are Not Having Younghoe Koo’s Excuse

Given that viewers saw what happened in slow motion, they weren’t having Koo’s explanation.
“Lol oh that’s what’s up Koo. Instead of taking accountability for the the worst FG attempt in history you throw your holder under the bus. Did anyone tell this guy NFL games have cameras?” one asked.

“So he wanted to protect his FG % instead of just trying to kick it ? Cut him,” another chimed in.

“Radical idea here: what if we just don’t have a kicker on the roster? Nothing good ever comes of having one 🤷♂️,” suggested a third.

“Bro coming like they didn’t show us 10 different replays from 15 different angles. YOU KICKED THE TURF AND TRIPPED BROTHER,” a user declared.

The Giants recorded another loss, leaving NE on the back of a 33-15 result. While Koo’s miscue didn’t have a massive impact on the scoreline, with NY likely to lose anyway, it’s still representative of the season they’re having.
