There aren’t too many people who could say that they dislike Pat McAfee. However, it seems the tide is certainly changing.

McAfee signed a massive 5-year, roughly $85 million agreement with ESPN in 2023 to bring The Pat McAfee Show to the network. McAfee pays his own staff, controls his guest list, and maintains autonomy over the show’s signature style.

It is what has made him so likable. McAfee’s growing footprint led to active negotiations for a lucrative contract extension, pushing values toward $60 million to $65 million annually.

Now, the ESPN host is feeling the heat after his appearance with U.S. President Donald Trump.

ESPN host Pat McAfee and U.S. President Donald Trump have drawn significant public attention this week. McAfee greeted Trump in Cleveland before boarding Marine One together.

He then sat directly next to Trump in front-row center-court seats at the SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, for the final rounds of the inaugural Patriot Games. The moment went incredibly viral on social media.

McAfee attended as a personal guest of the President and later posted photos on social media. He may have had fun, but social media certainly did not like it.

ESPN Host Threatens Immediate Legal Action Following False Social Media Allegations

Pat McAfee has issued a fierce response to being slandered on X, formerly Twitter. Earlier this week, an X user leveled a severe accusation against the ESPN broadcaster.

Specifically, the individual claimed that the host uses the n-word when speaking about colleagues behind closed doors. There was no evidence behind the claim. It was only because McAfee was sitting next to Trump.

“In case you were wondering if Pat McAfee calls us the N word behind our backs when we’re not around, here’s your answer,” the post claimed.

Faced with these serious allegations, Pat McAfee chose to confront the defamatory claims directly. He explicitly described the user’s post as grotesque and potentially warranting a substantial lawsuit. He further added that his legal team would be reviewing the matter.

“This is grotesque… and potentially lawsuit worthy.. “We’ll have the lawyers look into that next week,” McAfee responded.

McAfee has been accused of a lot of things, but a racist has never been one of them, until now. As of this writing, the original poster has not taken down the claim. It seems he is calling McAfee’s bluff.
