The Philadelphia Eagles are in desperation mode following the health of Jalen Hurts.
Hurts will miss time after being diagnosed with a blood clot, the Philadelphia Eagles announced on Thursday. They first discovered Jalen Hurts’ superficial blood clot on Saturday, October 11, after performing an ultrasound following the team’s flight and walkthrough in London. However, medical staff cleared him to play against the Jacksonville Jaguars. They would go on to lose that game.
That game became a footnote to what came out afterward. He will not be playing anytime soon due to a blood clot.
The following day, the team went out and signed a quarterback.
Eagles Sign Joe Milton Off Cowboys Practice Squad With Hurts Out

The Philadelphia Eagles are signing quarterback Joe Milton III to their 53-man roster off the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad.
Milton competed for the No. 2 job behind Dak Prescott in training camp. However, he ultimately lost the race for the starting spot to Sam Howell before being added to the practice squad. Whether he plays or not will be up to the Eagles. To this point, Milton has not started a game in his NFL career. He has appeared in five contests so far and completed 37-of-53 passes for 424 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.
The move comes one day after Jalen Hurts was ruled out of the Eagles’ game against Carolina this week after a blood clot was discovered in his calf.
Following a Sunday night matchup in Green Bay, the Cowboys will travel to Philadelphia to play the Eagles.
