Breaking Development Involving Packers RB Josh Jacobs Following Domestic Violence Arrest Puts Everything In Jeopardy

Josh Jacobs was released from jail on Wednesday after his arrest on several domestic violence charges.
The Green Bay Packers’ star running back is not out of the woods just yet. Jacobs was released from custody on May 27 as the Brown County (Wisconsin) District Attorney’s Office continues to evaluate a charging decision for an alleged domestic violence incident.
The District Attorney’s Office has “requested additional investigation” and said there was “reason to believe that additional evidence may exist that would impact whether additional charges would be appropriate,” according to Brown County District Attorney David L. Lasee.

Speaking with the media on Wednesday, Packers coach Matt LaFleur did not take questions on Jacobs’ arrest or status. “I’m going to stick with the statement we put out as an organization and just let the process play out,” LaFleur told reporters.
Josh Jacobs Has Been Charged With Multiple Crimes

Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs was arrested in northern Wisconsin and has since been released.
The Hobart-Lawrence Police Department booked Jacobs on the following charges:
- Battery — Domestic Abuse
- Criminal Damage to Property — Domestic Abuse
- Disorderly Conduct — Domestic Abuse
- Strangulation and Suffocation
- Intimidation of a Victim
Strangulation and suffocation are felony assault charges, while the others are misdemeanors. Not only is his freedom at stake, but his career with the Packers and in the league as well.
Josh Jacobs joined the Packers in 2024 and is entering the third year of a four-year, $48 million contract. He has served as a team captain.
Jacobs is the Packers’ top returning rusher after running for 929 yards and 13 touchdowns last season. That followed a 2024 season in which he ran for 1,329 yards and 15 touchdowns. he earned Pro Bowl status that year.
