Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce has bolted from minicamp. Not because of injury, not because he’s a veteran, but because of Taylor Swift.
Earlier this week, Taylor Swift walked the red carpet and performed at the Toy Story 5 premiere on June 9. Kelce missed the premiere because he was participating in the Kansas City Chiefs’ mandatory minicamp from June 9-11.
Chiefs players were required to report to the camp from June 9 through June 11, and the team shared a video of their star tight end out on the field. “87 at work,” the Chiefs wrote on social media. Also, Swift found time to attend the New York Knicks NBA Finals game with friends.
Now, the songstress has another high-profiled event, but this time, Travis Kelce was not going to miss it.
Travis Kelce Leaves Camp To Head To New York City

Taylor Swift was inducted into the prestigious Songwriters Hall of Fame. The organization honors songwriters whose work represents the most beloved popular music. Swift was inducted as part of the 2026 class.
At 36 years old, Swift became the youngest woman ever inducted into the Hall of Fame, per E! News. The 14-time Grammy winner is being inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame alongside some heavy hitters. They included Walter Afanasieff, Terry Britten and Graham Lyle, Paul Stanley and Gene Simmons of KISS, Kenny Loggins, Alanis Morissette, and Christopher “Tricky” Stewart in this year’s ceremony.
Her fiancé, Travis Kelce, wasn’t going to miss it as he left the Kansas City Chiefs minicamp early to support her Songwriters Hall of Fame induction in New York City on Thursday.
In the meantime, Travis Kelce signed a contract extension with the Chiefs this offseason. It was a three-year, $54.7 million deal. The deal pays him a guaranteed $12 million for the season, with the potential to earn an additional $3 million in incentives.
