Is Joe Burrow Okay? New Sideline Footage Of Bengals QB Has Everyone Worried [VIDEO]

Joe Burrow’s first preseason appearance ended without injury. However, sideline footage has left Bengals fans with another reason to worry.

A video posted by Joey DeBerardino shows Burrow stretching his left foot shortly before halftime against Detroit. The caption notes that Burrow had surgery on that foot last season.

Burrow already had Bengals fans worried after taking a sack.

The quarterback missed nine games last season. He suffered a severe left toe injury against Jacksonville and required surgery.

Still, the video does not establish that Burrow suffered another injury and merely shows him stretching. Cincinnati also avoided injuries to its key players during the 16-14 victory, according to local coverage.

Joe Burrow Played Two Series Against Detroit

Burrow started Thursday’s preseason opener and played two offensive series. He completed five of six passes for 39 yards during his 13 snaps.

His best completion covered 16 yards to Ja’Marr Chase. he also took a nine-yard sack from Detroit edge rusher Ahmed Hassanein.

He remained on the field after the play and completed his next two passes. Evan McPherson later drilled a 56-yard field goal during Cincinnati’s opening half.

Burrow then watched from the sideline as Joe Flacco took over. Flacco threw a touchdown pass to rookie tight end Jack Endries before Cincinnati ultimately secured the victory.

Even so, the sight of Burrow stretching his surgically repaired foot caught attention.

“I swear to god if he’s hurt again,” one fan wrote in the comments. 

Another claimed that “Glass joe is going to hurt himself and the franchise will fail again.”

“S**t, the season is toast. Anyone else wondering about the right arm sleeve/elbow pad🤔?” one fan asked. 

One user said Burrow was “Cooked after one preseason game.”

“Still doing this s**t 2 years after Achilles surgery. It’s normal, relax,” someone else advised. 

DeBerardino did note that he wasn’t implying that the QB was injured. 

“FYI: This is not a “Joe Burrow is hurt” post — just showing you all how he is staying loose and working on his mobility, even while his night is done.”

Bengals Fans Have Plenty Of Reason To Watch Burrow

Burrow’s injury history explains why seemingly minor footage can create immediate concern.

He missed his entire rookie season after tearing his left ACL. A wrist injury ended his 2023 campaign, while last year’s toe injury kept him out for most of the season.

Thursday’s performance offered some encouragement. Burrow completed 83.3% of his passes and avoided a turnover during his brief appearance.

The Bengals also kept him out after two series. That workload aligns with the usual caution around a franchise quarterback during the preseason.

For now, the footage shows Burrow stretching his left foot. It does not confirm another injury.

Bengals fans will understandably monitor every movement from their quarterback. After everything Burrow has endured, apparently, even stretching has become breaking news.
