Are the Kansas City Chiefs and Arizona Cardinals ready to turn the offseason upside down?
A new rumor on social media has fans going crazy. During the 2025 season, Kansas City hovered around the .500 mark all year before eventually falling off a cliff. The Kansas City Chiefs missed the postseason for the first time since 2014. It ended a 10-year playoff appearance streak after finishing the 2025 season with a 6-11 record.
This marked their first time missing the playoffs during the Patrick Mahomes era. Mahomes tearing his ACL certainly made things much worse for them. The Arizona Cardinals were officially eliminated from 2025 playoff contention by Week 13. They started the season 2-0, but went 1-14 to finish off the year. It led to the firing of head coach Jonathan Gannon.
It is clear that both organizations need significant changes to become competitive again in 2026. That leads us to the next rumor on social media.
An apparent trade between the two teams is allegedly in the works.

In his 2025 sophomore season with the Arizona Cardinals, wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. did not put up the numbers he was hoping for. He recorded 41 receptions for 608 yards and four touchdowns in 12 games. Injuries, including a concussion and a heel issue, impacted his season. Harrison was eventually placed on injured reserve.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Xavier Worthy recorded 532 receiving yards and one touchdown over 14 games. Following the season, Worthy underwent surgery for a shoulder issue. Both players are expected to be fine for the 2026 season.
Trading star wideouts wouldn’t fix the other issues that the Chiefs and Cardinals have. Nobody would lose in this trade unless injuries become a regular occurrence. However, one team does have Patrick Mahomes, while the other is trying to trade Kyler Murray.
