Former First-Round Pick Gets Worrying Update Less Than One Week After Joining Buffalo Bills

The Buffalo Bills are expected to have a good campaign in the upcoming season. 

While there were some minor scares during their preseason games, most of the team’s top players are predicted to be available in their season opener versus the Houston Texans.

However, one particular signing, a former first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft, is already down.

Jedrick Wills Jr. Off To A Bad Start For The Bills

Recently waived by the Chicago Bears, the Bills swooped in to sign Jedrick Wills Jr. on their practice squad. The former first-round pick was expected to bolster the team’s offensive line depth.

But Will’s career with the Bills is off to a very bad start. Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane revealed that offensive tackle is still dealing with an injury.

“He had a little tweak of his back there at the end. So we’ll ramp him up probably — this week. I don’t know, he’s not quite at 100%. But hopefully get him back there soon,” Beane provided an update about Wills.

Selected 10th overall in 2020 by the Cleveland Browns, Wills’ career in the NFL is a mixed bag. He dealt with injuries during his time in Cleveland. The Bears gave him a chance in March, but opted to waive him last Sunday.

It’s uncertain how long the 27-year-old would be out. 

The Bills Did Not Have An Ideal Training Camp

While the team still has superstar quarterback Josh Allen, it remains to be seen how far they can take it once the season starts.

If there’s any indication of how the team will gel on the field, one particular moment has put a dent in their upcoming campaign. Early in August, the Bills’ training camp erupted into chaos. Multiple fights have broken out. 

There was no camaraderie. Only personal vendettas. Maybe most of them are still pissed about how they exited the 2025 NFL Playoffs. Things need to start clicking for Buffalo, or this would be another disappointing year.
