Danny Torres, the Miami police officer who dragged Tyreek Hill out of his car during a tense scene in September 2024, went on a scathing rant after the Dolphins released the All-Pro wideout.
On Monday, news broke that the Miami Dolphins would release Tyreek Hill ahead of the new league year. In cutting the future Hall of Famer, Miami will save a whopping $22.8 million in salary cap space.
And one of the cops who controversially detained Hill in an incident before Miami’s Week 1 opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sept. 8, 2024, is thrilled to see Hill leave South Beach.
Officers forced Hill out of his vehicle and detained him for speeding, even though he didn’t display any aggressive actions or behavior. Torres was placed on administrative leave, and two traffic citations against Hill were dismissed.
Now, Torres is celebrating Tyreek Hill’s release. He called out the All-Pro wideout in a scathing rant on Facebook:

Torres has retired from the Miami-Dade Police Department, according to the Miami New Times.
Tyreek Hill Will Benefit From A Fresh Start

Hill played only four games in 2025, suffering a gruesome season-ending knee injury in Week 4 against the New York Jets. He finished with 21 receptions for 265 yards and a touchdown.
But Hill also endured a frustrating campaign a year earlier. He had 81 catches for 959 yards and six touchdowns. This came a year after he finished with a career-high 1,799 receiving yards.
He gave mixed messages about wanting to stay in Miami. Throw in his age, injury history and high salary, and a breakup was an easy call for the Dolphins. Hill should benefit from a change of scenery, especially if he lands with a Super Bowl contender.
A reunion with the Kansas City Chiefs certainly makes sense. The Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Green Bay Packers and San Francisco 49ers also stand out as logical landing spots.
