NFL Makes Controversial Final Decision On Attorney Linked To Jeffrey Epstein

After his name surfaced in email correspondence with sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein, the NFL had a decision to make.
In an ideal world, Epstein is not a name the NFL would want to be linked to. Their ties to him primarily center around New York Giants co-owner Steve Tisch, whose name appeared over 400 times in Justice Department files.
The NFL launched an ongoing review of the facts to determine if Tisch violated the league’s personal conduct policy. Unredacted documents and emails dating back to 2013 revealed Epstein connected Tisch with various women, including actresses and models.
As a result, Tisch decided to end his tenure as the Giants’ co-owner. Tisch and his siblings, Laurie and Jonathan, requested that their ownership be transferred to their children’s trusts.
Now that he’s gone, the league still has at least one person to deal with when it comes to Jeffrey Epstein.
NFL is Not Moving Away from Brad Karp, Despite Ties to Jeffrey Epstein

Brad Karp stepped down as chairman of the law firm Paul Weiss after emails revealed his ties to Epstein. Despite this, the NFL will continue to work with the attorney.
“It’s one of those things that’s lawful, but awful,” U.S. Representative Wesley Bell (D-MO) told Kilgore of The Athletic. “The NFL, considering the place they hold in our society — much less with kids — I think should be very sensitive to the people they associate with. Very questionable, I think.”
Emails were sent between Karp and Epstein in 2019. Karp advised Epstein on how to prevent the opening of Epstein’s plea deal from 2008. Around that time, he pleaded guilty to Florida charges of procuring a person under 18 for prostitution and solicitation.
In one email from March 2019, Karp wrote that he “particularly liked the argument that the ‘victims’ lied in wait and sat on their rights for their strategic advantage, knowing you were in prison, before they came forward.”
Months later, the Justice Department arrested Jeffrey Epstein and charged him with sex trafficking of minors and conspiracy to commit sex trafficking of minors. He would pass away in his cell a month later, in a death ruled a suicide.
