The NFL Players Association has released a statement following Rondale Moore’s tragic death.
The Minnesota Vikings wide receiver is dead at 25, having reportedly taken his own life. His body was found in his hometown of New Albany, Indiana, on Saturday.
While his professional career was brief, he is remembered for his sensational freshman year at Purdue, where he earned a reputation as one of the most electric players in the college game at the time.
“The NFL Players Association is devastated by the sudden and tragic passing of Rondale Moore,” the NFLPA said in a statement. “This immense loss is felt deeply across our union, and we value his service as a player rep. Our condolences and prayers are with Rondale’s family, teammates, and loved one during this incredibly difficult time.”
The statement continues:
“In moments like this we are reminded of how much our players carry, on and off the field. To our members: Please know that support is always within reach. Check on your teammates and prioritize your mental health. If you or someone you know is struggling, we encourage you to take advantage of the many confidential resources available to you through the NFLPA.”
Rondale Moore Had One Of The More Memorable College Debuts

Moore exploded onto the scene as a freshman at Purdue in 2018. He registered 313 all-purpose yards in his debut against Northwestern.
The speedy receiver earned Consensus All‑American honors and won the Paul Hornung Award that season. He was also named Big Ten Freshman of the Year.
Injuries hampered the rest of his college career, yet Moore maintained a reputation as a livewire receiver.
The Arizona Cardinals drafted him as the No. 49 overall pick in 2021. He caught a total of 135 passes for 1,201 yards and three touchdowns in three seasons with the team.
Moore subsequently joined the Atlanta Falcons before moving on to the Vikings, where a preseason injury kept him sidelined for the entire 2025 campaign.
