Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua put himself under fire again Sunday night, following an uncalled-for shot at veteran quarterback Sam Darnold. After struggling to find a footing with the New York Jets and the Carolina Panthers, Darnold revived his career with the San Francisco 49ers. He then joined the Minnesota Vikings, where everything changed.

He went from being considered a bust in New York to leading the Seahawks to their second Super Bowl win, completing back-to-back 14-win seasons in the process. Despite not having the most spectacular game on Sunday, he was effective, going 19 of 38 for 202 yards and one touchdown.

Nacua, whose team lost to the Seahawks in the NFC championship game, poked fun at Darnold on social media, simply writing his name with a laughing emoji.

“😂 sam darnold,” Nacua wrote.

Nacua’s antics didn’t sit well with many around the NFL. Former Rams and current Seahawks linebacker Ernest Jones took issue with Nacua’s message, firing back by reminding the wide receiver that he was nowhere near the Super Bowl trophy.

“Ain’t you at home. Goofy a**,” Jones said.

The Seahawks dominated the game from start to finish, putting pressure on Drake Maye and sacking him six times. The Patriots didn’t have an answer for the Seahawks’ defense, while place kicker Jason Myers took over with 17 points.

Darnold ripped the Rams apart in the NFC championship game, going 25 of 36 for 346 yards and three touchdowns. He led Seattle to a 31-27 win to advance to Super Bowl 60.
